MS Grand Palm Nile Cruise from Luxor

Today, we'll be visiting the Luxor West Bank Tours. On our tour, we'll see the Hatshepsut Temple and Valley of the Kings, as well as the Colossi Memnon, and resume Luxor excursions.

The Hatshepsut Temple was built during the reign of Hatshepsut, who reigned from 1478-1458 BCE. It's a beautiful example of Egyptian architecture and artistry, and it's one of the best-preserved temples in ancient Egypt. The temple was built using limestone blocks covered with white sandstone, which gives it its characteristic color. We'll also get to see some of the many hieroglyphic inscriptions that cover its walls.

Queen Hatshepsut decided to build her funerary temple on the west bank of Thebes to face the great temple of her father god Amen and to be close to her tomb in the valley of the kings.

Afterward, you'll have free time to explore on your own or take an optional excursion to Dendara Temple Complex.

Then you'll head over to visit Valley of the Kings and Colossi Memnon—two iconic sites that are must-sees when visiting Luxor! The Valley of the Kings which is a necropolis that contains the tombs of many pharaohs from Ancie is where we'll see some of the most famous tombs, like those belonging to Tutankhamun, Ramses II, and Seti I.nt Egypt's New Kingdom where many pharaohs were buried; it has been used since approximately 1550 BCE up until today. You might recognize it from movies like "The Mummy" or "Raiders of the Lost Ark."

Take a stroll through Colossi Memnon, two colossal statues that were once part of a temple dedicated to Amenhotep III, and after that, sail to Esna overnight.

Today we'll be exploring the temples of Edfu and Kom Ombo. These temples are very well preserved, with many beautiful examples of ancient Egyptian art that have been preserved for thousands of years. We'll also get a chance to explore the surrounding area and see how people in Egypt live today.

The first stop on this day will be the Temple of Horus at Edfu. The temple was built by Ptolemy VI Philometor, and it's one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt. Its facade is decorated with scenes of Horus fighting Seth, while inside you'll find a huge Hypostyle Hall with 134 columns supporting a roof that consists of eight rows of pillars.

Afterward, it's off to Kom Ombo Temple—which was built by Nero Claudius Caesar. This temple was dedicated to two gods: Sobek, who represented fertility and protection against crocodiles; and Haroeris, who represented Horus' healing powers.

Then it's time for lunch! We're serving up a buffet lunch at one of our onboard restaurants so you can enjoy your meal without rushing around trying to find things you like. After lunch, we'll head back out on the Nile cruise toward Aswan

Of all the attractions in Aswan, our favorite is the High Dam. So The first stop of your Aswan excursions is the High Dam which is considered to be one of the greatest engineering feats in history to control the flow of water from Lake Nasser and prevent flooding. It was built across the Nile River in 1964 by Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser and is still used today to regulate water flow in Egypt and Sudan.

After visiting the dam, you'll head over to Philae Temple, which is set on an island in Lake Nasser. The temple is dedicated to the goddess Isis, who was worshiped here before it became part of Egypt under Alexander the Great. Your guide will take you around the island and tell you stories about how it was built and why this spot is so important to Egyptians today. It's interesting!

After exploring Philae Temple and its ruins, you'll head back on board for lunch before heading off to visit the Unfinished Obelisk. Finally, if you're feeling adventurous and want to see something really cool but not too touristy, check out Unfinished Obelisk: it's an obelisk that was started by Ramses II but never finished because he died before he could finish it up! You'll definitely get some good pictures there.
