Legend has it that Alexander the Great asked the oracle to certify that he was Zeus' son. The gods and their retinue travelled over a vast desert swath to the Siwa oasis. Then continue on to the close-by salt lake. After that, visit Cleopatra's bathroom (the spring of the sun). Cleopatra allegedly used to swim here. Finally, head to the Umm Ubaydah temple, also known as the Amun temple. It was built by Nectanebo, a pharaoh of the 30th Dynasty. After that, enjoy a delicious meal at Gebel Al Mawta (taste the Siwan dish).

With salt water keeping you afloat, swimming in a salt lake may be a lot of fun. You'll eventually come across the Great Sand Sea, and enjoying a plunge in the hot and cold springs while driving a Jeep 4x4 is a great way to spend an afternoon. Bir Waheed As dusk approaches, we sip some traditional Bedouin tea before pitching our tent for the night and enjoying a barbecue dinner. Our destination is Fatnas Lake. You can get to Birket Siwa's little island of Fatnas by foot or by bicycle. Gebel Bayda and Hamra, which form a wonderful backdrop to the west, are close by, making it a fantastic area to unwind and observe the sunset over the lake. You may see trees of many sizes and forms while strolling around the garden, including banana, date, and olive trees. You will then be driven to your accommodation.

Before travelling to Cairo, you have the option of staying longer in Siwa. The world-famous dates, olives, jellies, and syrups from Siwa are worth trying.
